The instability of change

The only thing that is constant is change.

And yet …

Robe sundress-336590_640One of the most important fears of human beings is the fear of change . To be afraid of something constant is a very unnecessary expenditure of energy …

But it just reflects the complexity of the human being.

So what’s scary about change?

To change, or rather to take a step forward, we start by being very stable on our two legs. This posture is very comfortable and gives us stability and anchorage to the ground.

Rails shoes-1245920_640Regardless of how you do it, taking a step forward requires getting off balance, when one of the feet lifts to move. There, this moment can quickly become difficult and unpleasant if you go too slowly. It is the initial movement which is unpleasant because it requires a time of adaptation for our brain.

No matter how far you walk, walking means that most of the time only one foot touches the ground. And yet, as soon as the dynamic of progress is in place, another form of balance is put in place. A dynamic balance .

We are then in balance despite only resting on one foot.

Also, life advances with or without our agreement . Kind of like a treadmill. On this treadmill, not moving forward automatically implies moving backwards. The world we live in no longer allows us to stay put.

In summary:

1) To change too slowly is to risk living the discomfort of imbalance for too long. This is why rapid change lends itself much more to the very notion of flexibility and sustainability.

2) As in a car, starting from 0 miles / h requires the most energy. Once the movement is in place, energy consumption is reduced as it is only a matter of maintaining speed . So create a real dynamic of permanent change in your life. Change sharpens your flexibility and is one of the best assets in life. Change little things, but change!

3) So avoid making only one change every now and then. Because this lonely step, which you take from time to time, puts you out of balance much more than if you were to follow the steps , and it costs you a lot more energy.

4) Not to move forward is to go back . So keep walking on the treadmill of life so you don’t get passed.

With all my best wishes for you!
